About Platinum Dance Studio 2

The owner Nikki Perry started teaching dancing at The Tremé gym in 1992. She taught free for the kids in the community. At the same time she volunteered to teach cheerleading at Tremé park.  In 1996 Nikki decided to step out on her own, she put together a group of girls teaching them dance with opportunities to perform at different events Calling them Mirage.   The girls performed at a talent show and there outfits was silver shorts, all of there friends said "y’all should be called Platinum", that’s where the name Platinum came from.  Nikki opened up Platinum dance studio where she begin her journey. Platinum dance studio would go on teaching over 200 kids. They performed with some of New Orleans music artist like Choppa, Hot Boy Ronald, 10th Ward Buck and more: The girls performed 3 years on the All Good in the Hood TV show and 19 years on the Talk to me New Orleans Show.  You can also see them in music videos, with artist like Big Freedia (Now Who Mad), several videos from 10th Ward Buck, 504 Detroit and more.  Platinum dance studio was not just to learn dance it's a family that is joined to create entertainment and enjoyment  to others through dance.  Platinum dance studio was destroyed doing  Katrina, the students were living all over in different cities., Nikki did not bring the studio back but she had dancers that continued to perform on Tv, Events and music  videos.  Bringing back Platinum is a dream come true for her.  She can proudly say she did her job.  She have 10 of her students now own there own dance studio's, 5 dance for NBA Basketball teams. she is looking to create a better Platinum for the future generation.  A little bit of old to mix with the new.

We strive to create an environment where our students can explore their passion for dance, develop their skills, and build friendships that will last a lifetime.
